Liturgy Across Dispensations

A reading companion that traces eleven temple ordinances through three scriptural witnesses — Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon — and into the modern House of the Lord.

Liturgy Across Dispensations

The idea

Temple ordinances can feel modern and isolated. The argument here is the opposite — that the same pattern runs through four thousand years of scripture. We wanted a way to read that claim, not just be told it: each ordinance set beside its witnesses so the symmetry shows itself.

What we built

Eleven ordinances, each unfurling into three columns — type, fulfilment, third witness. Tap any scripture reference and the verse opens inline, with a note. It's typeset like a scholarly book — a 1672 Oxford face, an OKLCH palette, drop caps and fleurons — and it prints cleanly when you'd rather read on paper.

  • +Eleven ordinances, from Sacrifice to work for the dead
  • +Three parallel witnesses per ordinance, colour-coded
  • +Inline scripture panels with verse and commentary
  • +Bilingual EN/PT, full keyboard access and a print layout

The experience

The result reads like a quiet, serious book that happens to be interactive — built for someone who wants to study, not skim. Accessibility, reduced-motion and print were there from the start, so it meets the reader however they read.
